3. Payment Options/Guarantee Be cautious of contractors whom ask for complete payment up front. These contractors may take your money without completing home repair services abided in the contract. Instead of full payment, offer to pay a scale as the work is completed on your home.
For instance, a low down payment should be given in the beginning of the project but the contractor can receive the rest as it reaches 40% and beyond.
4. Cancellation Agreement You have three days to cancel a contractor's offer.
